Dozens of NYPD officers distributed food to front-line health care heroes at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park this morning.
The officers were outside the building during the hospital's shift change this morning with sandwiches as a way to say thank you for the work they are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sandwiches the NYPD will hand out were donated by Panico's Community Market in Smithtown. They are donating 750 sandwiches.
Meanwhile, Long Island Jewish Hospital says it is discharging its 2,000th patient today who has beat the coronavirus.
