The incident occurred near the Pitkin Avenue and Grant Avenue train station.
Police say two people got into a fight just before the shooting took place. One of the men was shot twice in the torso.
There was no word on any arrests.
The 28-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
