A 36-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and abdomen near the 6th train subway station in Mott Haven.

Police say it happened between East 138 Street and 3rd Avenue. The victim was hospitalized and is expected to be OK.

The suspect is described as a male wearing blue jeans, a red and black checkered long sleeve shirt, a baseball cap and a large black fanny pack.
