Thousands of students are participating in Career Discovery Week by visiting industry leaders.
This morning, dozens of students visited the JetBlue hangar at John F. Kennedy International Airport to learn about the aviation industry.
Students got to tour an airplane, speak with crewmembers, and participate in a panel. They also took part in a day of hands-on learning.
Career Discovery Week is a collaboration between the Partnership for New York City and New York City Public Schools.
"We believe deeply in these young people in the New York City Public Schools. We need them to be our future workforce and we're going to invest in their development," said Schools Chancellor David C. Banks.
Since the program first launched in 2020, organizers say more than 8,000 students have been given the opportunity to visit more than 185 local companies.
