The New York State Assembly voted overwhelmingly yesterday to make mixed martial arts legal.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is now expected to sign the bill, which fans have waited nearly 20 years for.
Former Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman, of Baldwin, says it seems like forever.
The bill increases insurance required for injuries to $50,000 and $1 million for life-threatening brain injuries.
The New York State Athletic Commission has 120 days to approve guidelines.
