Time is running out to register to vote before the Nov. 3 election.
You can register to vote online through the DMV or state Board of Elections websites. You can mail in a registration form, postmarked by Oct. 9 - received by Oct. 14. Or you can register in person at your local board of elections.
According to the Suffolk Board of Elections, there are more than 1 million people registered to vote in Suffolk County and there was an uptick in new registrations in the past two months.
In order to register to vote, you have to be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction, not have been declared mentally incompetent by a court and not claim the right to vote anywhere else.
