Members of the Patchogue community came together Sunday to make a stand after KKK materials turned up in the area.
About 200 people gathered on Terry Street in the chilly weather for a "Not in Our Town" rally.
Ku Klux Klan fliers were found last week on cars in a municipal parking lot off of Main Street. KKK business cards were also found at a CVS in East Patchogue last month.
Similar KKK materials have turned up on lawns and cars in several Long Island communities over the past few years.
"There have been a number of incidents, and I think there has just been this wave of hate coming into our community," says rally organizer Jen Brady Cotter.
Suffolk police say the fliers found last week were given to their Hate Crimes Unit, but say they contain no criminality.
