Northwell Health has launched Northwell Studios as a way to develop docuseries and films.

The hope is to spark conversations about the intersection between health and societal issues.

"We continue to have this goal of really pushing the envelope on healthcare's place in society and its contribution and relationship to individuals," says Northwell Studios President Ramon Soto.

Northwell says five new productions are underway including stories about gun violence and the mental health crisis.
