The Northport School District says a man tried to grab a girl while she was walking to her bus stop this morning.
According to the district, the incident happened on the corner of Windsor Lane and Clarke Drive while the Bellerose Elementary School student was walking.
The district says a white man jumped out of the bushes and tried to grab her, but the girl was able to get away and run home. The student's parents called police.
The district also says there was another stranger danger incident yesterday afternoon.
In that incident, a Northport Middle School student was walking home from the bus on Sea Cove Road when she was briefly followed by a man.
Officials say the incidents do not appear to be related.
