State police are investigating a trooper-involved shooting on the Northern State Parkway near the Sagtikos Parkway.

Police say troopers responded to a call just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday for a person with a weapon on the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Troopers caught up with the subject on the Northern State following a pursuit, where this incident occurred.

The driver exited their vehicle and pointed a weapon at officers, police say. The suspect was shot three times by troopers and taken into custody, according to police.

The Northern State Parkway was shut down for multiple hours in both directions at the Sagtikos Parkway due to police activity.

The southbound lanes of the Sagtikos Parkway at the Northern State were also closed.
