Nassau police are searching for the person who shot and killed a North Lawrence car dealership employee.

The shooting occured in the parking lot of Universal Auto World around 9 p.m. Thursday. Police say 27-year-old Collin Thomas, of Jamaica, Queens, was shot once in the back. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, where he died a few hours later. Detectives spent the night investigating at the dealership and confiscated a white sports utility vehicle.
