The North Hempstead Town Board will meet once again today to discuss the contentious expansion plan for the Hillside Islamic Center in New Hyde Park.

As previously reported, the proposal involves adding another level to the center and creating over 30 new parking spots.

However, residents in the area assert that the facility is already densely packed and overcrowded.

Due to conflicting viewpoints and concerns, the proposal has been postponed multiple times.
