North Hempstead is considering limiting the number of yard sales a homeowner can have.
The new bill would allow residents to hold up to four garage sales per year.
Local leaders say the goal is to prevent yard sales from growing into a cottage industry.
If the bill passes, it would be the first of its kind in Nassau County. Babylon town officials proposed a similar measure in July, but residents fought the proposal.
