North Haledon man sentenced to 12 years in fentanyl trafficking case

A Passaic County man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in a drug trafficking ring.

William Panzera of North Haledon moved fentanyl as part of a group that sent hundreds of thousands of dollars to China through wire transfers and bitcoin to pay for and import the drugs, according to federal prosecutors at the end of the sentence.

The 53‑year‑old was convicted at trial.

Eight other people have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.
