Police arrested a North Bellmore man Wednesday who allegedly offered to pay an undercover cop to kill his wife.
According to police, 31-year-old Santhosh Paul attempted to hire a hit man to kill his wife of six years, Tina. Police say Paul met three times with an undercover cop posing as an assassin at a McDonald's restaurant near Hofstra University. At one meeting, police say Paul brought a copy of his wife's $1 million life insurance policy, of which he is the sole beneficiary, and offered the officer $200,000. They say Paul specified he wanted his wife stabbed in the heart.
Paul is being held without bond at Nassau County Police Headquarters in Mineola.
