Next week residents will learn the official winner of the Hempstead supervisor's race.
Nassau County Board of Elections officials will begin counting nearly 6,000 absentee ballots and affidavits Monday, according to Newsday.

He declared victory, but Gillen did not concede, and wants all absentee ballots counted.
Democratic Party officials said they may request a full recount, depending on the outcome of the paper ballot count.
