Two very popular summer celebrations will go on in Glen Cove, despite being canceled by the city.
The city had canceled the 4th of July fireworks and Downtown Sounds in an effort to save money and fill a hole in the budget.
However, residents rallied and landed a grant from the county and private donations, according to Newsday.
Both the 4th of July fireworks and Downtown Sounds, an annual summer music festival, will happen.
The show on July 4 is at Morgan Park, and the Downtown Sounds concerts will be on Friday nights starting July 5. Those shows will run through August.
