There’s news of an apparent break for lots of Long Island homeowners.

The feds are reportedly delaying the start of a major change in the National Flood Insurance Program.

A new "risk rating" program for coastal homeowners was supposed to go into effect on Oct. 1 of next year.

Now Newsday says FEMA has push that back to the start of October 2021.

The change comes after lawmakers complained the program would hit Long Islanders with unaffordable premiums and send their property values plunging.
