Nassau Legislator David Denenberg is expected to surrender to federal authorities Friday on a mail fraud complaint, Newsday reports.
Newsday says Denenberg's criminal attorney confirmed his plan to surrender.
Denenberg publicly bowed out of the race for the 8th District Senate seat after being accused of billing a law firm client for $2 million worth of work he didn't do.
That complaint states that Denenberg is guilty of "heinous criminal misconduct," calling him "a rogue lawyer" and "devious criminal."
Denenberg released a statement in September saying in part that the charges were extremely serious and that the timing politically should raise many questions.
He is expected to be arraigned in Central Islip Friday, Newsday reports.
