Administrators of Newfield High School were on a big, yellow school bus Thursday to make stops at the homes of every graduating senior and offer their congratulations.
Samantha Lionetti, who waited with her family for her visit, said the gesture made her feel “grateful.”
“I hope my classmates also feel grateful that we're trying to put an end to our senior year the way we were supposed to,” she said.
Principal Scott Graviano rolled up to the homes of 366 seniors along with a fleet of first responders with a special individualized lawn sign for each of the them.
“To be able to put something like this together and see the look on the families’ faces when we get here – it just turns something that's been really rough into something spectacular,” he said.
