The New York Jets are donating $25,000 to help cover the Wyandanch football team's expenses this year. This comes after the Suffolk County Police Department announced it would provide a $150,000 grant.
Former Jets star Tony Richardson was there to deliver the check.
The district needed to raise $350,000 to save its sports teams. On Tuesday, officials announced they had exceeded that goal.
After other private donations, the district will still need about $47,000 to cover sports for the rest of the school year.
