The state Attorney General’s Office is investigating the police-involved shooting that killed a man in East Northport on Tuesday.

Suffolk County police say an officer shot Alan Weber after the 54-year-old refused to drop two fencing swords he was holding and charged at officers even after he was tased.

The attorney general investigation is routine when a civilian is killed by police and does not necessarily mean that an officer is at fault.
