The state health department has released a report on coronavirus outbreaks in nursing homes.
According to the report, which was released Friday, 122 people have died in nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities in Nassau County and 113 people have died in Suffolk facilities.
The report says some nursing homes include presumed COVID-19 deaths, as well as confirmed COVID-19 deaths.
However, the numbers do not include deaths at nursing homes reporting fewer than five deaths. The state says they were excluded for privacy reasons. One advocate says while the report is a step in the right direction, it's still not enough information.
Earlier this week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state will start requiring nursing homes to inform patients and their families within 24 hours if a resident got the virus or died.
