A new plan called the South Shore Blueway Trail will give Long Islanders access to marshes and bays by kayak and canoe on the south shore.

The path through the wetlands will include boat launches and rest stops.

Many areas on Nassau's South Shore are not accessible now.

There's a meeting on the plan next month in Freeport.
