New Nassau community policing center plan shows officer increase

Officials have released new details today about Nassau County's move to downsize four police precincts.
The original plan had only two officers at the community policing centers at all times.
According to Newsday, there will now be 10 officers stationed at the centers.
The new staffing plans have been worked out by the police unions and Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. There are up to 50 cops in a precinct currently but many are on patrol.
