A new mural dedicated to the history of hip-hop culture was unveiled at a Bronx laundromat Friday.
The mural, designed by graffiti artist Tony Cruz, was unveiled on Southern Boulevard.
Cruz says the project is more than just teaching history.
"This mural here is part of my hip-hop preservation project which is to preserve the essence of our hip-hop. And this is a tribute to the home of hip-hop; and in honor of my family and friends have passed away," says Cruz.
The laundromat that the mural was painted on is also sponsoring around 20 members of the Bronx River Art Center for children in the area.
