News 12 Long Island has learned that vape shops and hookah bars may soon not be allowed near schools and churches in New Hyde Park.
The Village of New Hyde Park is reportedly thinking about categorizing vape shops and hookah bars as "adult use" businesses, according to Newsday.
The move would mean the shops can't be within 800 feet of playgrounds, churches, parks, libraries or schools.
There's a public hearing April 5 on the plan.
