The Long Island Children’s Museum celebrated a major milestone today with the ribbon cutting of the BioBus, a brand-new all‑electric mobile science lab that will bring hands‑on STEM learning to children across Long Island.
40 children were there to launch the innovative lab, which will reach thousands of young learners each year.
The ribbon cutting capped off Engineering Week at LICM, also sponsored by National Grid, where families spent winter break building a “green” Emerald City sculpture using sustainable materials and exploring early engineering concepts through play.
Equipped with high‑tech microscopes and interactive tools, the BioBus will travel to schools and community sites, offering immersive science experiences during a critical stage of early learning. The initiative is part of National Grid’s new three‑year STEM education grant supporting LICM.
