A Nesconset woman is facing animal cruelty charges for allegedly failing to provide proper care for her horses.
Many of Vanessa Costello's horses were emaciated, suffering health issues and were not given proper veterinary care, according to the Suffolk County SPCA.
News 12 is told the nine horses were being boarded on Blake Avenue in Bohemia.
They are now being cared for at a local stable.
Costello is due in court next month.
