The Nassau County Police Department is holding a special meeting in honor of Black History Month today.
Commissioner Patrick Ryder tells News 12 that the purpose is to strengthen the relationship between the department and the African American community.
Ryder will be joined by members of his executive staff. The meeting is being held at 6 p.m. in Garden City.
