Nassau Community College is taking new action to address the sudden shutdown of its dining services.
The college says it’s working with food truck vendors to provide food for the rest of the semester.
Microwaves are also being added to some buildings and the cafeteria.
Records show the vendor needed more money to stay open.
NCC’s administration says they were negotiating with the vendor but could not reach a deal. That resulted in the vendor abruptly ending food services.
Students and faculty are calling on the county to take action.
The college is also taking requests for proposals to add a new food vendor for the fall semester.
