Nassau Executive Laura Curran says there will be no more worrying about mowing lawns in county parks thanks to some animal friends.
Curran announced the introduction of the Goats on the Go program, where a group of goats eat their way through dense county parkland. It will begin with the Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
"We're gonna use them - it's economic, it's ecological, it makes a lot of sense and then they get great meals everywhere they go," says Curran.
Curran says they have already identified other locations to bring the goats -- Brookside Preserve, Hempstead Plains and the Francis Purcell Preserve.
She also says the county is looking to expand its "fleet."
