The Nassau County Police Department held a graduation ceremony for the mounted unit on Tuesday at Eisenhower Park.
Three dogs and three horses walked across the stage in a traditional ceremony.
These animals are trained to find drugs, track missing people and control large crowds.
"Whether it be at concerts or whether it be at the World Cup that we're going to have just a few yards away from here next month, our mounted unit is always there and our K-9 unit will be performing very important tasks to keep our community safe," said Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
