A law to prevent another carbon monoxide tragedy has taken effect.
Nassau County's legislature just approved a bill requiring carbon monoxide detectors in all commercial buildings.
The vote comes after a fatal carbon monoxide leak at Legal Sea Foods at the Walt Whitman Mall in February. 
Suffolk County is working on passing similar legislation.
