Nassau nonprofit providing jobs for developmentally disabled adults says landscaping equipment stolen

The Freeport Police Department tells News 12 an active investigation is now underway.

Officials with a Nassau County nonprofit that provides jobs for developmentally disabled adults tell News 12 they were burglarized early Thursday.
They say trailers filled with landscaping equipment were broken into around 3 a.m. at AHRC Nassau in Freeport.
The group says around $30,000 worth of gear was taken, including a tractor, a lawnmower and several leaf blowers.
AHRC Nassau hires workers on the autism spectrum.
The Freeport Police Department tells News 12 an active investigation is now underway.
