A Nassau man took pictures of 70 families on their front porches as a way of raising money for corrections officers.
Jeff Harris, of Wantagh, says the pictures were free, and the donations were left up to the families. He was able to raise $5,000.
On Friday, Harris delivered a free lunch to the officers at the Nassau County Jail. The food was from Realto in Westbury, an Italian restaurant he partnered with.

“Things aren’t easy for anybody right now,” says Harris, whose brother is a corrections officer. “I just want to look back and know that I impacted people’s lives. I helped people out through all this.”
The Corrections Department in Nassau was hard-hit by the pandemic. Nearly 100 members were infected by COVID-19.
