There's a call to action by Nassau County lawmakers after a disturbing video surfaced of a dog trainer allegedly abusing an animal in his care.
As News 12 previously reported, Oceanside trainer Brian DeMartino is believed to be the man seen in the footage repeatedly jabbing a pit bull with a stick through a crate.
According to Newsday, lawmakers want to create a license for dog obedience training.
They are expected to make an announcement Monday.
The SPCA says it is investigating the case.
