Nassau police netted 239 firearms during gun buyback events held at two churches in Westbury and Hempstead Saturday.
People received $200 for each gun without having to answer any questions or give their names.
"I never used a gun, and I don't like guns," says Mary Houston, who accompanied her husband to turn in his weapon in Hempstead.
This is the third gun buyback operation the county has conducted in about a year, bringing in a total of more than 900 guns. Police say they'll have another buyback event next Saturday at the Christian Life Baptist Church in Long Beach.
