Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano declared war on potholes Tuesday and is asking residents to join in the battle.
At a news conference, Mangano urged residents to download the free mobile app called "Nassau Now." The app allows users to create "new service requests" where they can report potholes by taking a picture of its exact location.
"We will receive the GPS coordinates of that pothole so there is no mistake in fixing the pothole or finding the pothole," said Mangano.
The county executive says this method will cut down on confusion between village, town, county and state road jurisdiction.
Residents can also call the county for service requests.
To help fill all of the holes, Mangano says he will be launching a "Saturday Pothole Patrol" to repair them over the weekend.
