Some Democratic legislators plan to withhold necessary votes allowing Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman to borrow money until he releases funding they say was already approved for first responders and drinking water.
More than $800,000 in funding was agreed upon years ago, according to officials.
"This year alone Republican majority districts have received funding for 13 projects totaling $762,000 including support for first responders while Democratic minority districts have received nothing," said Legislator Delia Deriggi-Whitton, of Glen Cove.
News 12 reached out to the County Executive’s Office for comment and is waiting to hear back.
