Nassau DA: Former waiter convicted in fatal stabbing of busboy over tip money at Hicksville restaurant
A Farmingdale man has been convicted in the fatal stabbing of a busboy at a Hicksville restaurant.
The Nassau district attorney says David Jimez-Salazar, who was a waiter at La Candela, got into an argument with Elvin Padilla about tip money in 2020.
News 12 is told the fight escalated and that Jimenez-Salazar picked up a piece of broken glass and stabbed the victim in the neck - killing him.
The 25-year-old faces up to 25 years in prison.
Jimenez-Salazar is set to be sentenced in March.
