An East Meadow man is facing charges in the stabbing of his wife and baby.
Christopher Alvarado, 37, is accused of stabbing his wife, 38, in their Cooper Drive home while she was holding their 18-month-old daughter. Police say Alvarado then stabbed himself, attempting suicide. The incident occurred on March 23.
Detectives say the 18-month-old child was treated and released to family members. Alvarado's wife sustained serious physical injuries and is listed in stable condition at a hospital.
The Nassau District Attorney's Office says Alvarado was arraigned Sunday on two counts of second-degree attempted murder and endangering the welfare of a child. He is still in the hospital and received a bedside arraignment.
