They say crews have 21,000 tons of salt and 850 tons of sand on hand.
PSEG Long Island is expected to bring in more than 400 linesmen from out of state - many already arrived Sunday and were resting up before the storm hit.
State highway crews were spotted Sunday pre-treating roadways to get the upper hand. In Suffolk County, officials there and in the towns and villages say they're preparing as well - even though the eastern part of the Island is expected to get less snow than in Nassau County.
Nassau Executive Laura Curran is advising residents to stay off the roads if they can.
