The race for Nassau County executive has moved into its final stretch, with both candidates spending the final days of their campaigns meeting voters.
Democrat Tom Suozzi says he plans to campaign non-stop until tomorrow night. He was in Freeport yesterday and his campaign RV visited local train stations this morning in Port Washington, Syosset and Great Neck.
Elsewhere, Republican incumbent Ed Mangano visited Island Park yesterday and says he's trying to meet with as many residents as possible before Election Day. Mangano says he's very encouraged by all the support.
Newsday's political reporter Rick Brand says voter turnout is expected to be low tomorrow across the Island because there's no presidential or gubernatorial race happening. More voters are expected in Nassau because of the county executive race.
