Nassau County legislators unanimously adopted an emergency law Monday night for a partial suspension of the county sales tax on gasoline.
The Suffolk County Legislature adopted the same legislation Tuesday.
The law in both counties cuts the tax on any amount over $3 per gallon.
This savings is in addition to the tax cut that New York state announced last week.
The temporary tax cut starts June 1.
