Nassau County revealed its new plan to allow catering halls to increase their capacities on March 15.
It’s been a year since catering halls have been able to fully operate, and future bride and grooms are anxious to know more about what the guidelines are for weddings and other social gatherings.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that state catering halls are allowed to have 50% capacity or up to 150 people at events.
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said in a presser earlier today that specific questions like if dancing will be allowed and masks required is up to the local health department. As of right now, they do not have those answers.
However, officials say they do know that guests are required to get a COVID-19 test prior to the event. In addition, catering halls are allowed to have multiple events take place at once as long as they have separate exits and don’t cross paths with other parties.
Lots of questions are still unknown, like if do you have a vaccine, are you exempt from taking a test prior to an event?
Curran says she hopes to have those answers soon.
