As the temperatures begin to drop, many of Long Island's needy will be seeking warm places to spend the night.
Today, Nassau County activated its Warm Bed Hotline. The county's Department of Social Services is offering anyone living on the street a warm bed immediately, no questions asked. The department says it's working with Nassau shelters to provide beds in a year when there's a bigger demand than ever.
People seeking shelter from cold conditions can call 1-888-WARM-BED in Nassau, and 1-866-494-6873 in Suffolk.
