Multiple people were injured after a violent armed home invasion in Riverhead Sunday morning.
Police officers and paramedics flooded an apartment complex on Doctor's Path in Riverhead after investigators say two armed suspects stormed into an apartment. They say at least one of them started shooting from a long-barreled gun.
The break-in happened at around 3:15 a.m. and police say there was a struggle between the attackers and the residents.
A total of four people were hurt, although authorities tell News 12 none of those injuries were from the gunfire.
Neighbor Justin Clementi says this is the second time this year violence has broken out at the apartment next door.

“Last time, they were here there was a SWAT team, I couldn't go outside. Now it's crazy. I just woke up and I'm going through some anxiety... You see all this crap happening outside. It's messed up,” he says.

All of the injured were taken to nearby hospitals, and at least one of them had to be airlifted by helicopter.
The extent of the injuries and the victims' current physical conditions were not released.
Two other people were found outside the home, but investigators say they were not hurt.

At this point, officials have not released the names of anyone involved and it's not clear if any arrests were made.
Police did say the victims of the home invasion were likely targeted.
