The crash happened on the eastbound Sunrise Highway near Exit 63.
Police say Sister Josephine Dagostino, of Bellmore, was killed in the crash. A Yaphank man was also injured.

Police say two people suffered injuries when they rear-ended the tractor-trailer, which had slowed down to avoid the first crash.
