Train riders will soon have a new way to pay when taking the Long Island Rail Road.

It's called OMNY or One Metro New York.

Riders can use their smart phone to pay or a contact-less credit, debit, or reloadable prepaid card.

They'll start seeing it in use on Long Island in early 2021.

It's already being used at some New York City subway stations and will fully replace the Metro Card by 2023.

It's also expected to replace the payment system for the LIRR, NICE buses, and Metro-North.
